CLASS INFORMATION:

We supply all of the material for the beginning class:  Practice quilts, backing fabric, batting, thread, binding, etc. You will want to bring the first project you want to finish on our machines to class.  (You will not be quilting this project during class). We will teach you how to properly prepare a backing fabric and quilt top to load on the longarm using the Quick Zip System.   We will help you pick out thread, batting and a pattern/design to compliment your piecing and get you all set for your rental.  We will also talk about the different batting and thread types.  During class, we will talk about the tips and tricks we have learned in our 22 years of longarm quilting.  You will have time to use our Longarms and practice with the paper pantograph patterns.  We will also show you what the computerized machines can do!

Feel free to bring a snack or light lunch. Class is usually about 4 hours. 

You will have homework before class!  :) 

Go to YouTube and search for Angie’s Answers.  Make sure to watch Part 1 How to Square up a Backing Fabric. Then watch Part 2 Getting a quilt ready to load on the frame.  Finally watch The Quick Zip System - Zippers for a longarm! How to pin a project.  These 3 videos will help you have a better understanding of the process we teach to get a project ready to load on a frame.  We will show you in person at class the entire process hands-on.  

After class, you can schedule for your Rental time. When you book your rental time, you will have the option to book a free-motion or paper pantograph rental OR a computerized rental.  The computerized rental means that the machine will be moving all on its own to create your chosen design.  You are not physically moving the machine when the computer is running.  During your rental time, we will show you our easy tricks for squaring the quilt while basting, lining up a pantograph pattern and how to quickly finish a quilt by simply following the line of the pattern with the laser light from the back of the machine.  Anyone can do it!   We have renters from 8 to 80’s! After you have completed quilting your quilt, you can bring your binding and we will attach the binding on the front side to your quilt.  We will teach you our technique for mitering corners and tucking the ends all with the longarm!  Then you are ready to unzip your quilt and take it home to finish the binding on the other side. 

Longarm Rentals:  $25.00 per hour for free-motion or for people following paper pantographs. $35.00 per hour for people using the computerized machines.   Try before you buy or finish your own without the investment! 

Sit Down Quilting Machine Rentals: $20.00 per hour (No class required!  Contact us for details!)
