Welcome to The Quilting Connection, LLC!

We are a 5th-generation, longarm-exclusive quilting shop built around one simple belief:
Confidence comes from education, support, and real relationships.

What that means for you: For more than 27 years, we’ve been quilting, teaching, and supporting longarm quilters — helping them finish quilts with confidence instead of frustration.

How it all began

In 1999, Sue and her mom, Earlene, purchased their first longarm quilting machine and opened The Quilting Connection in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

That same year, Angie joined the shop — and longarm quilting quickly became her passion.
By 2004, Angie was quilting for customers, and by 2006, she was teaching the longarm training classes that are still included with machine purchases today.

Education has always been at the heart of what we do.

Growing with the quilting community

Over the years, The Quilting Connection has grown alongside the longarm quilting industry.

Today & the future

Today, we operate two locations in:

  • Elkhorn, WI
  • Appleton, WI, next door to Going to Pieces Quilt Company, which as of July 1st, 2026 is now under the ownership of The Quilting Connection LLC, and will be formally known as Going To Pieces by The Quilting Connection.

Both studios feature Handi Quilter machines available to try before you buy, along with the longarm supplies quilters rely on — including the Quick Zip System™, wholesale batting for businesses, tools, books, and longarm-specific accessories.
